  • Left Navigation menu > Career Services > Career Explorer > Match Your Skills > Your Job Skills

  • Individual Dashboard > Widgets > Career Services widget > Career Explorer link> Match Your Skills > Your Job Skills

Steps to Matching Your Job Skill Set (Option 1)

To complete Option 1 on the Match Your Job Skills page, you must first save your job skills.

Option 1 uses your saved job skills to identify occupations that align with your abilities and interests.

  1. Select the Continue button to begin.

  2. Choose an occupation match level for the assessment and select the Continue button again. A closer match narrows results; a broader match expands them.

  3. Your matching occupations display as a table that includes links to:

    • Occupation Profiles (under the Occupation Title column)

    • Skills You Match (or Skills You Lack)

    • Job Openings

  4. If your results are too limited, select the Change Match Level link below the results table and choose another level.

Steps to Matching an Occupation's Skill Set (Option 2)

Option 2 lets you compare the skills required for a specific occupation with your own skills displayed side by side. Use this comparison to identify other occupations where your abilities may fit.

  1. Select the Continue button to begin.

  2. On the Occupation Search screen, select the Occupations By Keyword tab.

  3. Begin entering a keyword to automatically suggest options as you type:

  4. Select an occupation from the list and then select the Search button to view the Occupational Skill Matches.

  5. Select the Continue button to view occupations with similar skills.

  6. Choose an occupation match level for the assessment and select the Continue button. A closer match narrows results; a broader match expands them.

  7. Your matching occupations display as a table that includes links to:

    • Occupation Profiles (under the Occupation Title column)

    • Skills You Match (or Skills You Lack)

    • Job Openings
