Work with Existing Letters

Overview

The Correspondence tab lets you create and manage letters for different uses, such as applying for a job or thanking an employer for an interview. You can create and save the letters in the system, and then later attach them to applications or download them.

Steps to Manage Existing Letters

From the Correspondence tab, you can perform the following actions:

Do This:

Create a new letter

Select the Create New Letter button at the bottom of the page. Options display to select an employer and populate their information; add a letter name; insert contents from a letter template, such as Cover Letter, Acceptance Letter, Follow-up Letter; as well as other options to create the body of your letter. See Create a Letter for details.

View a letter

Select a [letter name] link to open an existing letter in a separate window.

Download a letter

Select a download icon in the Download column to open a separate pop-up window for saving the selected correspondence to your computer or an external drive in a specific format (e.g., PDF, HTML, Word, or RTF).

Copy a letter

Select the Copy link in the Action column to open a form with the letter body copied from the selected letter. You can add recipient information, make changes to the body of the letter, and save it as a new letter.

Edit a letter Select the Edit link in the Action column to open the correspondence in edit mode so you can modify it and save the changes.
Delete a letter Select checkboxes for the correspondence you wish to remove from the list and select the Delete link; choose OK to confirm.
Filter the list of letters Select from the drop-down list to view Current, Deleted, or All letters.
